VANOISE NATIONAL PARK
The Vanoise National Park was the very first National Park in France.
The disappearance of the alpine ibex from the Vanoise massif led to it's creation 6 July 1963.
The Alpine Ibex has since thrived in its protected environment and the best place to see them is near Peisey Nancroix.
It has a common border with the Italian Gran Paradiso National Park.
Twinned since 1972, together they cover 1250km2 and constitute the largest protected site in Western Europe.
SummerZest is based 5 minutes from the gateway to the Vanoise National Park and can provide local guide to make sure you see all its hidden secrets. Click here for more information on the Vanoise National Park
WHITE WATER AT SUMMERZEST
We work closely with the rafting base H2O in Landry who provide several white water activities for you to choose from.......
Hydrospeed: This is like a big float which you hold on to in the water to take you through the rapids. You get a thick wet-suit and flippers!
Canyoning: This involves sliding down waterfalls and investigating caves in the river. Again, all equipment is provided by H2O.
Rafting: The classic white water initiation! Up to 8 people per raft with a guide to do all the hard work!
Hot-Dog: This is a 2 man raft, a sort of inflatable canoe!
